Born in Athens, Paris Gagastathis started his musical career with classical guitar. Gradually his interest turned to the piano and he started private lessons with the pianist Panagiotis Grammatikopoulos. He continued his studies in classical singing, theory and piano at the Athens Conservatory and later at the Glyfada Conservatory from where he obtained degrees in Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue.

In 2007, he started jazz piano studies at the F. Nakas Conservatory, where he completed the course of study, obtaining a jazz piano degree. He is an active composer while simultaneously studying composition first with Evangelos Kokkoris and then with Yiannis Anastasopoulos at the Zografou Conservatory.

As far as his musical activities are concerned, he has been actively involved in jazz in recent years having created his own band playing in almost all venues that host this style of music. Moving on this basis, he recently recorded his first album with six personal compositions in the style of bebop jazz enriched with modern modality elements.

In 2023 he release the album 'Introspective'. Is the first attempt to record his music. It includes six original compositions with a dominant experiential element and mood of inner search.

He teaches jazz piano at the F. Nakas Conservatory and at the Sikyonio Music School in Kiato.

 I thoroughly enjoyed the creative process while the contribution of the four great musicians who participated in the recording was a catalyst.
